  • Q: VAMPIRES?!
  • A: There are a few. Read about them here.

  • Q: WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THESE DISEASED PEOPLE?
  • A: The medical aspects are described here in an IC post. People started displaying symptoms of the full blown virus as early as December, 2007. The governments and miliaries of the world made no official announcements until January 30th, 2008. Dr. Moira MacTaggart's interview aired February 17th, 2008.

So far as their weaknesses and strengths go, here's the rundown:
Their eyes and flesh are severely damaged by exposure to UV light, so they only hunt and expose themselves after dark.
They have few higher brain functions.
Their body functions are constantly running higher and faster than that of normal humans, so their physical health is at risk - life expectancy is half that of normal humans, and reproduction isn't even a question. Still, it is a virus, can be contracted to humans who are not immune and will be immensely difficult to cure (from the cure's development to administration). What the 'creatures' will behave like and remember after they have been cured is unknown.
As much as it is a fault, their accelerated bodily functions are also used to their advantage, along with enhanced agility, speed and strength. Their sight has been lessened, but their sense of smell is greatly enhanced.
They behave similarly to rabid animals, and have few desires above eat and sleep.
    They are cannibalistic.
Mutants cannot contract the virus, but they can be killed by the creatures and eaten. So, defense is necessary.

  • Q: ARE THE FAMILIES OF THE X-MEN & STUDENTS SAFE?
  • A: Yes, if they were alive when the Cure Virus was just beginning to spread, and hadn't contracted it, Xavier sent for them to be transported safely to a local safe zone and they have been in contact with their X-Men family members (folks at the mansion). X-Men had the option to stay with their families (so long as they hadn't taken the cure). Students were sent to stay with their families (if they had them). If the family members are mutants, they were welcomed to stay at the school. Xavier has custody of any orphaned students.

  • Q: THERE ARE FEW FORMS OF FUNCTIONING MEDIA LEFT?
  • A: There is no professionally produced news on the TV, radio or internet. If anyone is broadcasting anything, it is by sheer luck that their power if functioning, that they are alive, and that they have the equipment to do it. There is an internet network within the mansion and e-mail can be sent, as well as IM and eJournals. Xavier has several uber-generators and other forms of electrical power producing equipment.

  • Q: SO WHAT'S THERE TO DO?
  • A: Well, folks are dead or cannibals, so you can go out in the daylight within the grounds of the mansion (X-Men, of course) or stay inside and be productive, etc. Or just bum around, on account of there's a lot happening and most people will be needed for a mission at some point or another. NO ONE GOES OUT AT NIGHT - the creatures are active during this time, and can eat people, even mutants.

  • Q: WHAT TIME PERIOD IS IT IN THIS GAME?
  • A: POST-X3 (by a year or so), spring of 2008

  • Q: ARE ORIGINAL CHARACTERS ALLOWED?
  • A: Absolutely.

  • Q: HOW MANY CHARACTERS IS EACH PLAYER ALLOWED TO TAKE?
  • A: As many as you can handle. The most at the moment is five or six (a mod).

  • Q: HOW FREQUENTLY DO I HAVE TO POST?
  • A: Generally, you should post an IC or OOC message once a week, for yourself or for one or more of your characters.

  • Q: MY CANON WASN'T IN THE FILMS - HOW DO I INTEGRATE THEM?
  • A: Mostly, for non-movie canons, we try to find them a place in the history of the movieverse and help to make sure any characters they should have/had relationships with are noted. We do our best to make them fit in! (That goes for original characters, too!)

  • Q: IS IT REQUIRED TO PLAY A CANON CHARACTER?
  • A: Yes - at least one.

  • Q: HOW ABOUT THOSE DEAD GUYS?
  • A: The dead are here. Those who are not 'presumed' dead, but are simply listed are DEAD. They cannot return, we saw them die, or we believe that they should not be revived for this game. Those who are marked '(presumed)' will not be returning without great plotting efforts. Those who are marked '(presumed)' have a greater possibility of returning and could be pulled into the game fairly easily.
